Who can invest in music at MasterExchange?
The platform is open to use for people of the European Economic Area (EAA), UK and Switzerland from the age 18 and above. These are the countries included at launch: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Lichenstein, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
What is a royalty share?
A royalty share is what you invest in at an IMO, trade on the platform and will be able to see in your portfolio. Every royalty share is unique and will contain artwork, an ID number among other things. All royalty shares of a song will represent an equal claim of future master royalties.
Is the royalty share a NFT?
Each royalty share is tied to a NFT on Ethereum’s Polygon network. However, the NFTs are kept at an external crypto custodian which means you will not have direct contact with the NFTs when you use the MasterExchange. Additionally, there are no crypto payments, instead euro is used on the platform.
